Photo Essay: Shots from Pacific Crest Trail

Bing Lin is a full-time conservation scientist and photojournalist who spent the summer completing his final 500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail through the Sierra Nevada. Along the way, he reported on long-distance hiking and its intersections with the critical environmental issues affecting California and beyond in his multimedia series, Miles to Go, published by the Pulitzer-winning newsroom Inside Climate News. This week's Hiker Box features a selection of his photos from that trip. Keep your eyes peeled for more of his work Issue 8, The Photography Issue, coming next month.
